Moving motor forward for 700r4 swap
Hey guys, I have done the 700r4 swap in my 71 Burb 4x4, which I moved the engine cradle forward appox 2" (1 7/8") if I remember well....I am doing the same swap in my 72 K5 4x4...6.2L diesel/700r4/np205. Is the procedure the same as the burb..move appox 2" forward? Thanks in advance

Re: Moving motor forward for 700r4 swap
Suppose so. About 12 years ago I had a 71 4x truck with a 6.2 turbo in it. I had set the engine in the big block 2wd position and it fit perfect with the big block shroud. I would question your choice of the 700 behind the diesel though..I'm not a fan of the 700 in trucks. I'd consider a 4L80e

Re: Moving motor forward for 700r4 swap
in my blazer i moved the engine forward 1-7/8", yes. But i have a small block, not a 6.2.
Used the Advanced Adapter output shaft to mate the 700r4 to the NP205. |
