Any interest in a 2wd to 4wd conversion kit?

The thing about using the FSJ wagoneer,cherokee,J-truck axles is that the front axle is spring under.

Ive bought several items from Kert at DIY4X and all have been great. ORD sells some good stuff too but more money and I like the look of the DIY4X items that Ive bought. Just my 2 cents.

I considering a 67 2wd to 4wd conversion and not sure if I want to use the stock hangers or all the stuff I bought from Kert. Only down fall is that I have 56inch front and rear springs which gave my burb about 7 1/2 inches of lift. Not sure I want the 67 that high.

how much different are the 4x4 frames from 73-87 to 67-72? width, contour etc . thinking of using 73 or newer frame and running gear under my 67 2wd thanks

That is essentially a 3 link isn't it? I'd still like to find that article. I guess now that Frieburger is on facebook I could ask him. It also seems like it was when the tech articles were still in black and white.

I would be interested in a 4x4 conversion kit for my 66 2wd c20

I'm in California so local conversion parts are best.

As for the kit you spoke of what would you provide, what would it cost and what parts do I need?

I want to keep the eaton rear and get a different front axle.
I'm unsure what all I would need short of the axle and trans.

Looks like I just inherited my father's '62 GMC Suburban with the 305 V6.
I understand the front suspension is a torsion bar set up.
I'm willing to perform some heavy modifications, even if it means hiring someone to do what I can not.

Not 100% sold on the conversion yet, but I'd love to know more so I can make a decision.

Any ideas on this kit? Perhaps maybe some suggestions on parts?

Sorry, but life happened and I never made much progress on this. Best bet is to get a 73-8 donor truck, Blazer, or Suburban and use the spring hangers. Also companies like DIY4X.com have spring hangers and shackle mounts.

This is an older thread but....
I like the idea. I want to convert my 66 C10 to 3/4 4x4. I have an 85 with Dana front and 14 bolt rear 4.11. I don't like the body lift look. Not sure yet how much work it will be to convert my C10 frame to K.

The biggest problem with the 4-5-6 trucks is the rear of the frame splays in & out which makes mounting spring hangers on the side a PITA.
I saw a set of S10 rear spring hangers on a 66 truck once, and it wasn't pretty & it was left 2wd.
I have done this but I put the (Custom Fabbed) rear hangers UNDER the frame rails & squared them up w/ short blazer springs.
It sat so high I had to spring under the rear axle.
