CAN YOU USE ALL THE STOCK SADDLES WHEN DOIN A REAR FLIP? IS ALL YOU NEED REALLY IS NEW "U" BOLTS? AND C-NOTCH OF COURSE IF CLEARANCE IS SHALLOW... IF A KIT IS REALLY NEEDED WHO GIVES BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK.... WANNA DO A SIMPLE 3/5..... NEW COILS FOR FRONT.... BUT NEED YOUR INFO HELP FOR THE REAR.... LIKE TO GET THIS DONE BEFORE NEW EXHAUST...... THANKS

And can someone shed some light on what the differance would be for a flip kit on 5 lug vs 6 lug ....... I have looked and looked for kits and they are all thus far for 73 0n up and 5 lug kits.... I have a 69 2wd GMC ps pb coil frt. leaf rr. automatic

The only way you can use the stock saddles is to cut them off cleanly. If you have a plasma cutter or are good with a torch, it can be done. You can also buy new saddle brackets.
Most of the kits for flipping are an adaptor that fits into the original saddle, leaving the flat top on the axle. It cleans things up a bit to weld on new ones and cut the old brackets off. It's not a big deal because you cannot see them very well anyway, it also makes it harder to switch back if you need to. |

here is what i used... http://store.summitracing.com/partde...rt=MOR%2D85090 the u bolts can be had at a local spring shop for about $25 per set of 4/with nuts & washers. I made the u bolt plates from 3/8" flat stock......a little work, + some welding, but a pretty good savings on parts. best of luck,crazyL
