Does the ECM have to be reflashed?

Just starting my research on doing the LS swap to my 68 C10. If i buy the engine, trans, pedal, ecm, etc all from the same donor car, does it need to be reflashed? If so, why?

Typically yes. You want to remove the VATS (Vehicle anti theft system). Most of the time you want to remove the 2nd o2 sensor also.
