What is my 72 jimmy worth
Hey guys I’m considering selling my 72 jimmy. What do u think it’s worth. It’s got a 350 with roughly 40k Miles. Not original but i have paperwork for the motor and receipts from PO. it’s got an sm465, np205 transfer case. 4x4 works. 1 ton axles. Front is Dana 60 rear is 14 bolt with limited slip. 4 wheel disc brakes no ebrake but has front line lock. New front leaf springs. Rear shackle flip. 16.5x10 inch wheels. Bfgoodrich 35’s. New 2 core radiator. Front seats and folding center console from newer Silverado. Paint is ok scratches and dents but nothing rotted out anywhere. Passenger door is dented in and need either skin or popped out. Wheel wells have been cut for 38”s. Not sure about lift size. Has hardtop with various cracks from age. Rear tube bumper, front bumper is bent radiator support has dent. Also has softtopper in good shape. Has rear fold and tumble bench seat from later model blazer. Pics aren’t that great il try and get better ones. Just don’t have the money for gas and upkeep anymore lost garage space to work on it. So whadda u think this is my daily driver and has never left me on he side of the road since I’ve owned it.

Re: What is my 72 jimmy worth
???
I thought you'd have some responses by now, but since you don't, I'll give my two cents' worth. I think any running Blazer will bring $4k to $5k. 40,000 on a rebuilt original 350 doesn't mean much as far as I'm concerned. The 1 ton axles might interest someone who is interested in off-roading, but that also means the truck has probably been driven hard. For me the biggest thing would be the cut wheel openings. So while you can probably get $5k (or even more) for your Blazer, your field of potential buyers is going to be smaller. No offense intended; that's just my opinion.

Re: What is my 72 jimmy worth
Without knowing anything about rust issues or quality of previous work, or how the axle swaps and lift were done, or the condition of the interior, it is very hard to venture an educated guess. However, that being said, I would think it should bring at least 10-12K. If it didn't have the issues and need for body work/paint, it could bring a good deal more. A lot of money was put into that rig. Good luck with the sale.

Re: What is my 72 jimmy worth
Right now I think its a decent looking burly blazer. But I agree with Truckster on this one. Because of the mods your potential buyer list has really dwindled.
I get rsavages idea on pricing (man he has a lot of rigs) but there is no way I would personally pay that much for a blazer if I was looking for a toned down one. You could easily have ten grand putting it back to stock - ish. |

Re: What is my 72 jimmy worth
For the same reasons as above (body work, paint, seats, axles etc) I would put it in the 6-8k range depending on rust.

Like has been said, around 5-7K would be about right. Cutting the wheel wells is what killed this truck.

Re: What is my 72 jimmy worth
I agree $5000 +, a lot depends on rust. Also as mentioned.... the cut fenders. This is just my opinion of course...

Re: What is my 72 jimmy worth
As a fellow MA member, I think you could get somewhere between $8-12k depending on the body and rust. I paid $10k for a rust free 72 Blazer that had a basic satin black paint job, a crap drivetrain and almost no stock interior. Every other one I looked at was almost completely rotted out. And all those rot boxes were asking $5-8k. So with all that in mind it really comes down to the condition of the body.
Let me know if you want to sell the Softopper! I'm in the market.

Re: What is my 72 jimmy worth
I spent $2500 for a real POS, $750 on another, and $500 for another. When I finished rebuilding a frame, rear ends, brakes, etc... I spent about a $1000.
I changed the tub, new rockers, boxes, and floor pans. I sectioned up a couple of bed floors to make a 'new' floor. Re-did some truck doors and cut them for the blazer. 383/350/205 and then final paint. I put maybe $7500 cash in the project and a million dollars worth of man hours. LOL In the end I ended up with a $8-9K blazer. Buying one with every thing there and running is worth a chunk. Reading your post and seeing your pics I would think in the $8K range. The mods for the tires will hurt some, and 'trail truck' characteristics will indeed decrease the target audience. If I were dead set on selling it I would put $10-12K on it and play the game from there. Best of luck. Scott |

Re: What is my 72 jimmy worth
Unless you’re really really hurting you could keep it. They seem to keep climbing in value. I know I wouldn’t sell mine unless times got tight. Look at mine in my sig. I paid a lot less than it’s worth today.

Re: What is my 72 jimmy worth
that door dent is pretty bad as well.
Id put it around 10k and go back and forth if you need to sell.
