1960 truck fan shroud

Is there a shroud that will fit a 60 with the stock size radiator? The truck has a small block in it and a flex fan and no shroud (solid mount fan with no shroud is factory...right?).

I have has great luck with a shroud and a fan clutch on all of my other older vehicles.

Suggestions?

Re: 1960 truck fan shroud

With all the mods I went with the Flex-a-lite Black Magic 180 (3300cfm). With out controller, used one from Speedway Motors that piggy backs temp sender. Used original tabs. You can make a box style or tri 5 chevys use same style shroud.

Re: 1960 truck fan shroud

There are three different factory fan shrouds for '60-'62 trucks.
The first looks like a '58-'60 passenger car "Barrel" type shroud.
The second is more of a full-shroud that covers the whole core.
The third is wider and has an area "notched" to clear lines for automatic transmissions.
They show up here every once in a while, and show up on Ebay too.

I don't know if there is a difference between 6 and 8 cylinder applications, or even if there are more versions.

Re: 1960 truck fan shroud

Try the 55-57 Chevy Bel Air. They look to be same radiator.

Re: 1960 truck fan shroud

The 63-66 factory style shroud adapts well to the 60-62's.

T
There is a difference between 63-66
6 and 8 cylinder. The 8 cylinder you can find , the 6cyl seems only came with A/C equipped trucks and are impossible to find. The medium duty and heavy duty 6 cyl shrouds are not the same as the light duty..

Re: 1960 truck fan shroud

The truck I have is a long water pump. Will that make a difference without changing everything over to short?

So you added the 63 and later side panels to a truck with a 60-62 radiator and then trimmed the shroud to fit?

Yes, the 63-66 side panels and shroud to a 62 truck with a 60-62 radiator. It worked very well and looked good too.

If you decide to go this route and need more fitment details, just ask.

This is what I would do. Clean, uses OG parts and simple.
