48 windshield center bar

My 48 cab does not have the inner center windshield brace for the 2-piece windshield on the cab. I've looked in my 1947-1954 Truck Factory Assembly Manual, and I've not found how it is installed. I think it is welded in.

If you have link or a picture I would like to see a picture of how it is installed I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

If someone doesn't beat me to it I will post a photo. Yep, it was just welded in on the back side. I kinda remember it being wedged between the inner and outer panel but I will get a photo.

Re: 48 windshield center bar

Thank you.

It looks like it has to be placed so that the holes line up so the trim pieces fit in correctly. I may have to get all 3 pieces to line it up properly so I can weld it in. Since I replaced the dash, there wasn't a piece there, but at the top of the windshield there appears to be a piece between the inner and outer cab at the "V", just like you said.

Re: 48 windshield center bar

Welded on the inside on the top and the outside on the bottom.

The center of the top hole is right at 3/4 inch dow from that little lip.

The hole for the mirror goes towards the top.
