oxygen sensors / other connectors question
I'm in the middle of rewiring my pcm for my ls swap. I've removed my ac stuff because im not running an ac circuit in my vehicle. But now I've stopped to lean on folks who've performed this task and such.
When talking about emissions, do we need the o2 sensors for registration later on down the road? or does it still fall under an antique vehicle and its omitted despite having a new time motor in it? Thank you, double Last edited by weedoublewide; 04-28-2019 at 04:17 PM. Reason: no need to start a new thread |

Re: oxygen sensors
You'll want to keep the front two oxygen sensors for the engine to run right. The rear ones can be deleted

Re: oxygen sensors
The O2 sensors are not necessarily 'emissions equipment' With a EFI engine, you must have a least 1 preferably 2 O2 sensors. The PCM relies on the O2 sensors, as well as other sensors, to adjust the fuel flow thru the injectors.

Re: oxygen sensors
okay, rock on cool got it.
The pair of exhaust headers I got don't have the pre-tapped ports for the oxygen sensors. That's the whole set I got below, I'm not sure of the proper term for those two pieces but they go into/onto the collector part. Is there an adaptor type that's retro fitted with the port tapped? https://www.speed-engineering.com/ls...ram-horns.html Thanks, double |

Re: oxygen sensors
Also, I cant figure out what these three connectors are used for,
All the wires from photo 1(1st) go to photo 2(2nd) and some from photo 1 go with photo 3/4 ( they're the same connector) |

Re: oxygen sensors
The mid and full length headers from Speed Engineering have the O2 bungs welded into the collector. You will have to purchase two O2 bungs and have them welded into the collectors you have.

Re: oxygen sensors
Pic 1 goes to the TAC module, pic 2 goes to the throttle body. The third pic is the connector that hooks to the body harnesss that has the wires that go inside the cab, it has wires that go to the cruise switch and the instrument cluster, you will be removing it if doing a stand alone harness.
