Dakota Digital LS swap oil pressure sender question
This has likely been covered but when not using the BIM and using Dakota's sending units how are you getting oil pressure reading to the pcm ? Dakota says their guages have to read their sender. Does this require a second oil pressure sender to be tapped somewhere either for it or the pcm ?

Re: Dakota Digital LS swap oil pressure sender question
I don't know what your sender looks like, but if it's like the sender that New Vintage provides with their gauge packages, you can buy an adapter from LSX Innovations that replaces your OEM LS oil bypass plate. There are a couple different configurations in terms of how many ports it comes with and I ordered mine from Amazon.

Re: Dakota Digital LS swap oil pressure sender question
The ecm does not need oil pressure input...all you need is the proper Dakota sender for your gauge...and if its npt sender then you'll need the metric to npt adapter..

Re: Dakota Digital LS swap oil pressure sender question
Nice looking truck! I used to have a real similar one. Whether or not the PCM needs the oil pressure sensor depends on what year your engine is, but I'm going to assume its a GenIII since you didn't mention otherwise, so if that's the case you don't need it. To install the DD sender you can either tap the bypass block above the oil filter or you will need an adapter to put it in the stock location. Be careful with aftermarket adapters because they are usually pretty thin and will snap off easily, seen it done several times. Or, you can do what I do and break off the plastic part of the original sender and drill and tap it for your sender. Super easy, cheap and wont break like the aftermarket adapters. There are pics in my thread in post #26. https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...-c-10-a-2.html

Re: Dakota Digital LS swap oil pressure sender question
You need the original sender and hook up to ECM if you ever want to read gauges on a tablet with a Bluetooth scan tool for anyone who wants to do that.
