64 panel frame swap
Want to upgrade my 64 panel to 4 wheel drive, the plan is to use a late 80's
suburban for the donor frame. I was wondering if a frame from a 90's suburban would work. I found a 99 at a real good price. |

Re: 64 panel frame swap
Is urs a 1/2 ton? I think 3/4 ton is the same, but 1 ton is longer. If you have a 1/2, then it shares the frame with short box trucks. Suburban will be too long, and will take a lot of fab'n to get it all ligned up, and you make every body mount.

Re: 64 panel frame swap
I realize I'm going to have to shorten the frame no matter what year I use. I have seen on here someone used a 87 burb frame under their 61 burb and it came out great. Just wondering if anybody tried a 90's frame.
