Re: Ideals on c10
Nice truck. At this point you already have the patina theme going. I would attempt to get it road worthy, check brakes and running gear. From there I would drive it, a lot! I love the wide wheels!

I like the truck just the way it looks, and agree with above, get it running and drive it!

Re: Ideals on c10
I'd spray it down with ATF, let it set overnight, then wash the rust off with soap and water. Follow that up with a good buffing and about 4 coats of good wax.
I'd also hose out the cab corners, rocker panels and inner fenders. get ALL the dirt mud N crud out of there, and let it dry. I would steam clean the under side, and engine compartment, paying extra attention to nooks and crannies (what the hell are crannies?) After that, I'd do gear oil, brakes, u joints, grease the chassis, get it running, evaluate what is necessary to make it safe and dependable. Also, I would start looking for a grill and bumper. Looks like a fun project, good luck, have fun, keep us posted. ...You're gonna need a lot of beer. -Russ |

^^^What Russ said X2^^^
I think crannies are the parts where the sun don't shine... perhaps even in between those parts... You may need some lube to get to the deeper cranny regions. ![]()

Re: Ideals on c10
I would paint it. It looks like it could be a nice looking truck with a paint job

Re: Ideals on c10
Just helps remove surface rust, without harming what's left of the paint. you'll still have to scrub, but it will take a little less elbow grease, ATF is a great rust remover and has a lot of detergent in it.Spray it on with a spray bottle or pressure pump, let it set, wash it off with Dawn soap and warm water. a little messy, but works pretty good and is cheap.

Re: Ideals on c10
^ People wash with CLR to do the same thing right - to remove the rust? Would CLR be a little better for the environment than ATF?
