72 Diesel GMC Custom Camper?
Is this factory? It's in Canada, only $1500, nice looking dash.

No, not factory. And naturally the seller doesn't say what kind of diesel is in it, or include a picture.

Re: 72 Diesel GMC Custom Camper?
It's not a very well put together listing. Being it's a swap you'd think it would be important to offer some information on that engine.
I got all excited looking through the GM light truck parts book once, when I saw listings referring to 'diesel'. But I had to cool out once I saw it was for P-series (forward control/StepVan).

Re: 72 Diesel GMC Custom Camper?
I called him.
He lives about 3 hours down island from me. The motor is a 6.2 or 6.5 diesel with an auto trans attached. He wasn’t sure but thought it was a postal type van. He knows it’s not a 5.7 Olds type block. He never installed it, just got it in a trade like that. Used it a couple times then parked it. |

Re: 72 Diesel GMC Custom Camper?
That was a popular swap in the '80s and '90s. There was an original owner near me who had a '71 Cheyenne Super/20 he hauled a travel trailer with that had a place in CT do the swap. They specialized in it. He had the emblem on his tailgate as well. I'd drive that thing

Re: 72 Diesel GMC Custom Camper?
I had an 89 6.2 C150 long bed that I ued as a shop truck race car puller for about 200KI loved that truck, I let it sit up and the pump went bad. I did a 5.3 swap but only drove it about a thousand miles. It is still parked out in the pen by the shop, I'd LOVE a6,2-6.5 in a older truck, I even though about one in my 71 C-30
