Does anyone daily drive their blazer?
Hey guys, I’m a former multiple c10 and 79 2wd blazer owner. One I had kids I sold those vehicles for something newer and safer for the family. I’m now ready to get back into a blazer or jimmy specifically. I prefer a 73-75 because those don’t need smog in California. I also have a 5.3 on the engine stand in my garage. Question is who here daily drives their old blazer or jimmy? I remember my 79 and loved it. Room for kids, bucket seats console, room for dog in the back. Never should have sold it. What your guys thoughts?

I don't see a negative except for theft. I know it could get stolen at home as easily as anywhere else, but still, you're attracting more attention when you get it out daily. We can't live in a bunker either. So... No downside, right?

Don't daily mine but hey if you really want to make it theft proof put it on airbags.
Can't even get a jack under the body of mine when it's layed out. |

Re: Does anyone daily drive their blazer?
I daily drive my 1979 Blazer everyday as a college student down here in Texas. for almost a year now. I had a problem with overheating over long road trips but as people will tell you a factory fan shroud does wonders. I think I am getting right around 11 MPG so definitely a drinking problem but with gas at 1.95 a gallon life is great.

Re: Does anyone daily drive their blazer?
I DD my '85 Suburban, it's absolutely perfect. My GF has 3 kids and I have a dog so it works awesome for my family. 5.3 and air ride makes it a perfect daily driver.
I have an '83 K5 in the garage now I'm doing a lot of work to, for it to also be a DD for the family. I think it'll be perfect to have 2, the Suburban for 3 seasons and the K5 for year round. The kids love riding in them and I can't drive new appliances (new cars), I have to have something with character.

Re: Does anyone daily drive their blazer?
I should have said earlier, 4x4 should be fine. 2wd Blazers I would worry about.
