Braided fuel hose

I bought some with the the AN fittings, whats the best way to get the fittings on the hose?

There's no such thing as a best way. Whatever works best for you. Tape the ends when you cut it to help keep it from flaring so bad. Then you'll have to work all the wires under the fittings. All I can say is keep a rag handy. You'll be bleeding like a stuck hog before long. All the manufactuers have instructions on how to assemble their hoses on their site. If you've ever assembled a air hose, it works the same basic way.

So I'm taking about 1/2 inch of the braided wiring off the hose, this way I can slide the fitting on the rubber and tuck the braided end under it. Sound right?

No, you leave the braid on the hose all the way to the end. Just trim any ragged wires off so they don't stick out too far past the rubber hose. Also, clamp it in a vise with a rag to keep from scarring the fitting. Use some oil on the fitting to help it slide in.

To then end eh? I tried that but it was real difficult. I did manage to scar the inside of the fitting do to the ragged wires that got loose. I appreciate the image it will help alot.

Yes. The inside of the fitting where the two go together won't matter if it's scarred. Yes, it's real difficult. The sealing part is the tube part of the fitting which goes inside the rubber hose. Then when it's tightened together, the pressure seals everything off.
