Mounting Accuair Leveler sensors

I've already done this with my suburban about 4 years ago when these first came out. It was kinda of a pain the way I did it (welding involved). I'm getting ready to do this on my son's 68 and was wondering what new and creative ways everyone has been mounting these now. Thanks in advance!

You can get collars from McMastercar and drill and tap them. Mount them to your pb trailing arm. Then for the frame you can weld or make a c channel bracket to bolt the sensor to. If you do a c channel you can slide it around to figure out the travel.

I have also installed the collars on the front shocks or tap the control arm. Mount the sensor on the pb upper airbag mount. Backside of control arm.

I made some spacers out of thick aluminum tubing to mount my sensors to the frame for the rear and to the front crossmember for the front. I also used the aluminum collars from McMaster-Carr. If you need part numbers on the collars let me know...I think I've still got them in my inbox somewhere.

I had a couple pics posted on my PB write up thread but here is how I have mine mounted up in front:




The rear is similar to those already posted, mounting at some point, inside or outside the trailing arm.

I believe one of the ways that Nate and PB recommend or have set up most of their installs is like pic #2, with a adapter plate mounted on the inside of the frame rail for the e-level sensor and the rod attaching to a fixed point on the trailing arm. A collar shaft is probably the best option if you have tubular arms.

Hey man i could use those part numbers been looking all over for those collars lol i figured mcmaster car would have them good thing is I'm 40 mins south of them so i get them same day

If you wanna get something happening cheap/fast, I used exhaust clamps and they worked really well!

Just tap them and thread in the ball mount and they are good to go...the fronts you have to shorten the ball stud a little so its flush on the inside but the rear is perfect. These are the part numbers if you have the Porterbuilt control arms and trailing arms. These are aluminum so you can polish them too.

Using this thread as a guide the shop just got done installing the e-level sensors on mine. I really liked the idea of using the clamps to mount to the trailing arms and LCAs. I also didn't really like the crappy plastic heims that came one the original rods, so I ordered some steel replacements. Here's the parts and prices I ordered from McMaster:

(2) Collar clamp for trailing arm - McMaster Carr - $36.82 - 6436K76, 2-piece Clamp-on shaft collar for 2" dia. aluminum
(2) Collar clamp for LCA - McMaster Carr - $20.14 - 6436K74, 2-piece Clamp-on shaft collar for 1-1/4" dia. Aluminum
(8) 10-32 heim for e-level rods - McMaster Carr - $26.56 - Steel ball join rod end, 10-32 RH female shank, 3/16" ball ID

I picked up some brackets from choppin block.. about $12.00 a piece.. they have them in all sizes. they also make a billet one thats a couple more bucks.. Ill be mocking up my sensors soon.. ill try to get some pics of what I do.
