Re: Windshield help please!!!!

In the OP the windshield does not look fully seated. It took a lot of tugging, pushing, slapping, etc... to get the windshield to finally set in place. Even after roping it in, the gasket along the top of the windshield needed to be pulled from the inside while a helper applied pressure from the outside to get it to engage the pinchweld properly. I used copious amounts of Windex to lube things up and a plastic seal tool to work the gasket around the sides and bottom until I was happy with the fit...

Re: Windshield help please!!!!

I had the same challenge as the OP and was using a professional windshield company to install it.
After 3 hours on the first attempt, they gave up and ordered another windshield thinking that was the issue.
Another 2 hours with the new glass and they still couldn't get it in. They gave up and told me I was on my own.
All of this was with one of the cheaper gaskets.

I ordered the Steele gasket and my wife and I put it in ourselves in about a half hour.

Re: Windshield help please!!!!

I have found a good flexible rubber seal with some dish soap for lube works pretty good. I have thought possibly some tire lube would also work for lube. a flat plastic tool, with a tapered end, to help the rubber past the steel seat is also a great idea to have handy. there is also a tool, like a screwdriver handle with a round steel shank, slightly bent, with a small ball on the end that I have seen windshield installers use on big trucks and off road equipment using the same style of windshield rubber.
