Re: A few "quarantine" projects...
Nice work.
![]() That Overhead console looks well planned. Everything in the right spot. The roof rack is very nice also. What type of wood did you use? .

Re: A few "quarantine" projects...
OK:
I was a little light on descriptions: Woody- the rack gutter mounts were rolled out of 3/16 steel strap, then cut to shape with a plasma torch. The rack itself is 1" 16 gauge tube. The slats are Hickory (left over from a job.) CG- moved the battery pics, and put up new links in the original post. The auxiliary battery (lower, outboard) drives the radios, exterior lights, 12v power outlets,l inverter, etc. It is isolated from the main battery, except when the engine is running (but that can be shut off with a switch.) As of yesterday, it is being constantly charged by a 160W solar panel on the aft section of the roof rack. Getter-Done- The wood on the rack is Hickory. The overhead console is red oak, and the panels are aluminum. There are tri-band HAM, CB, and GMRS radios stuffed in there, along with a sub-fuse panel for lights and radios, voltmeters for both batteries, outside air temp gauge, and a thermostat for the window fan... |
