Lowering a 77 suburban
I put this in the wrong forum so I'm reposting here
I want to drop my 77 c10 suburban . I know the front spindles are the same as the trucks but I'm having issue with the rear. The only drops I'm finding is 2 inch shackles. Really looking to go with 3 front and 4 in the rear . Will the c10 truck 4 inch kit fit the burban? Or are the ounts and shackles different? Was looking at something like this https://www.suspensionsuperstore.com...t-ks331134-ns/ I have been told that a flip and then using 4x4 shackles can get me close but I really dont want to go that route. Or do I just buy the 2 inch shackles and just remove some leafs . Mine has the 8 leaf pack that includes the helper

Re: Lowering a 77 suburban
Western Chassis use to make drop leaf springs.
Maybe look at www.performanceonline.com. They use to sell 3”, 4” and 5” drop leaf springs. I had some on a suburban I owned years ago. More expensive than a flip kit though.

Re: Lowering a 77 suburban
Look here:
https://westernchassis.com/lowering-...-87-chevy-c10/ These kits say 52” leaf springs. My suburban had 56” leaf springs. So make sure you measure yours first.

Re: Lowering a 77 suburban
Mine has 56 inch leafs but the holes are there for the mount to be 4 inches forward . Can I just move the rear mount?

That will save you dropping the gas tank out. And maybe a better ride.

Re: Lowering a 77 suburban
Measure the height of your burb, before and after.
Your stock leaf springs could have some sag to them because of age. So your new drop may not be 3”.

Re: Lowering a 77 suburban
The truck sits at 31- 1/2 front and 30-1/2 rear if I get a full 3 inch drop the front should look like this
