Just bought a 1962 C-10 Thoughts .?
I just picked a fresh running driving original ( sort of)
1962 C-10 off a local guy Yes it rusty ( flinstone flooring)no wood bed and a seat from what looks like a 1982 Malibu Seat That the mice had a rave party in for years ( nasty) It still has the 235 cu ...It’s very tired and 4 spd on the floor No PS no PB hydro,clutch/ brake master Cylinder. Not original color and not a custom cab. The possibilities are endless only limited by my budget . ( BOB is your uncle) I happen to have a 96 LT1/6sp car that needs A body. I like the originality of the 62 the torsion bars ride like a Cadillac .. ...... What do you think .? Keep in mind I’m still hashing together the lowest build 1966 C-20 with a 1992 vortex 5.7/4L80E combo .... why did I buy it in a middle of several other builds.? It was Way to cheep super easy to get . I literally pointed down a hill and costed it home ( sorta) .... and I’m a knee knocker guy. ..... SP

So i would say if you are building others (assume they are C10(s), maybe do this one with old school SBC or BBC, maybe add Fuel injection, have some fun with it. |

The '96 LT1/T56 will definitely fit the chassis after you build or modify engine mounts and fab a trans crossmember. Unless my trans crossmembers are in production by the time you get to that point. Then it is just all the wiring PCM and fuel system for the engine. The LT1's aren't bad just kind of the redheaded stepchild of small blocks. I think there are fixes available now for a couple of the shortcomings of the LT1/LT4 engines.

If you don't want to hassle with a wood floor for the bed, a 67-69 metal floor will work. Just need to drill a few new mounting holes.
