Installed grille by myself like this...ingenious or redneck?
OK, so I was trying to rack my brain for a few days to be able to install the grille by myself without dropping it since the grille support was already installed. In my sleep last night I came up with this idea...I could zip tie the grille to the support to hold it roughly in place while I put the bolts in.
So is this ingenious or redneck or something else?? Here are a few pictures...With zip ties and after the install. You can see that the zip ties held it pretty straight and was an easy install. |

This would be redneck if you stopped after the zip ties

Dang, I wish I thought of that last time I had my grille off. Probably going to use this idea next time

Perfect. Adapting and overcoming is half the fun as mentioned above. I swap out entire engines by myself all the time. Having the right tools helps tremendously though.

Great idea. Being a lone builder I'm also interested in any ideas to help make a job easy for one.

I might need a couple more on the bottom to hold it better, but maybe not. Quote:
Thanks... That's why I posted it actually...if it helps someone then I'm all for it. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Hopefully I remember it for the next build. |

Heck I wasn't sure how to do that alone. That's a great idea and I will probably need to use that myself. Thanks.
