Re: 75 GMC sierra classic face lift and conversion to short bed
after few days we found painting room, unfortunately is too difficult to find useful painting room in my city ,all of them are dirty ,have gaps between doors, blower and suction not work, and lots of problems.
anyway we went there ,spent 2 hours to clean the room, then started testing the wind compressor, suction and blower, what a lucky... was awesome ,worked perfect. we sprayed 5 times of top coat for maximum cover and after that just 2 times of clear coat. then we set the trumpeter on 65C ,but never reached on it,just stopped on 57 and we kept the car about 2 hours ,very glossy and shiny and ....... |

Re: 75 GMC sierra classic face lift and conversion to short bed
thank you very much guys for following my posts
Dear Jott already bought aluminum 16" X 10" rims ,kept 5 lugs but the truck still is lifted and need to be lower than this ,just wanted to do it at the end the tires are 16X55X295 , just died to found this tires in Iran, god damn it ,we dont have lots of brands and sizes here, and it costs a lot if i wanted to order from US not bad ,i like it started to fix the new wiring harness ,it was really easy with instruction that provided with harness, thank you american auto wire to make me happy with this during this job ,cleaned the headlight bezel and painted the headlight housing .missed some of headlight adjust springs ,so made it here and changed the old windshield to new and original one ,to get new looks |

Re: 75 GMC sierra classic face lift and conversion to short bed
unfortunately i couldn't find any pattern to upgrade my manual window to power window.the problem is ,i bought the power window equipment ,it was for 86 model ,and right now we cant fix it on my door.need to change some stuff and modify ,that's why i need pattern.
this is the regulator and all stuff any way we moved the car to the friends garage to work on gearbox which had a huge leak on we changed the o-ring after that we started to work on big project ,when i bought the car i was interested to have ZR1 roll pan.but unfortunately discontinue the fiberglass one in US and no long avail in US, i was looking for long time ,but no chance ,and finally found the steel one on ebay which it was really expensive ,specially the shipping cost was high ,so we decided to make it here. i started to have some plane found the CNC and Laser company ,bought the metal sheet and .. after that we did the tig welding on the separate pieces . and we fitted on the car,was perfect there was so hard to find a expert handy man to make light housing ,but we were lucku and ...bingo we sent the panel for paint ,and during this time fixed the front grill, light and bezels then fixed the roof light and engine wiring before to send the panel for paint we checked all the things to be perfect. and finally painting this is the fiber one that i couldn't find this is the steel one from US ,it cost me about 1200 $ and this is what we did: still have problem with power window and we cant fix it on door , i dont want to buy universal regulator ,if any body knows how to do that ,please dont hesitated to help |

Re: 75 GMC sierra classic face lift and conversion to short bed
thanks david ,by the way i like this roll pan
we'r back to start 2nd step of project, but really need help and guide. as i told car has the inline 6 and TH-350 and 12 bolt rear end wich is i dont know the ratio.but im pretty sure all parts are stock parts. right now i want to swap the engine with V8 ,350 performance ,and want to buy the turn key crate engine ,i have 2 options, CRICKET ENGINES and FASTCO.(base on my budget) http://www.ebay.ca/itm/CHEVY-350-HI-...item2804ea8d99 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevy-350-en...item2a56e02a9f well actually my goal is not to go to drag race, just want to have some fun with japanies, korean and germany's cars on weekends ;D but i have no idea what to choose ,im not really thecnical guy ,thats why i need to know; with these engines ,what is the best choice of transmission? do i need to keep the stock th-350 and rebuild it with race kit or need to swap it to th-400? what is the best choice of rear end posi? of course i want to have the LSD posi ,but dont know with brand and which ratio? the same thing about tourqe converter ,and final is exhaust system,i prefer to buy flowmaster muffler ,but really dont know what i have to choose,i want really deep sound which is not disturb on long distance ,few days a go i saw a 2015 mustang GT ,the sound was great,on normal drive the saound was really dip and no noisy but when got rpm ,it was aggressive.dose any body know which serie is like that, pro series?super50? or.. (i think they called mild to aggressive) so right now im gonna separate my quastions 1- choose of engine 2- transmission (best choice) 3- rear end posi (wich ratio) 4- tourque converter (what stall) 5- exhaust system (prefer flowmaster) thanking in advance ,plese dont hesitated to help ,share your information and experience . Quote:
2. For that power level a th350 should be fine. 3. If you are going with a th350 (or th400) then you probably want something near a 3.08 if you are going to be on the freeway for any amount of time. If you get a 700R4/4l60 then I would go 3.73. I have only had Detroit Lockers so I'm not much help there. 4. You should call/email the company and let them know what you have. It depends on engine, weight, cam, transmission, gears, and purpose. 5. I have ran a lot of different flowmasters over the years: 10, 40, 50 series. My daily driver is a 350Z with no mufflers. I love loud annoying cars but I think most people wouldn't like the noise level of the 10's. I am kinda over that particular sound though. Look on Youtube and play some exhaust clips of the various different brands. See what you like best.

Re: 75 GMC sierra classic face lift and conversion to short bed
thanks david
well i know with that price maybe can get 383 or ls but base on my budget i preffer to keep my th-350 ,thats why im not going with 383 cause i have to change the 350 to 400,and the problem for LS is i dont wanna have the injection engine ,the setup for ecu is really hard in IRAN and we dont have expert guys overe there, so its better to go with carb engines ,and much easier to find parts for carbs engine, i heard the 700 is longer than 350 ,so i have to modify my drive shaft again, and really i dont want to do it,cause alrady did it during shortening. would you let me know what is the difference between the roller cam and flat tappet? |

Re: 75 GMC sierra classic face lift and conversion to short bed
It must be hell to get parts out there....
You can run the th350 with a 383 or an LS. They make carb kits for LSx engines so you wouldn't need to run or tune the EFI. The 700r4 would require changing your drive shaft. The flat tappet cams tend to wear faster and have to be broken in properly or you will ruin the cam. Around here they need oil with more zinc in it. Not sure what oil you have out there (may not even be an issue). The roller cams will last longer and can be more aggressive than the flat tappet cams. The only real downside is the price as you can see they cost more money.

Re: 75 GMC sierra classic face lift and conversion to short bed
man you tempt me to go with 383 or LS
as you said ,your right ,its worse than hell here to find part ,but im lucky, can buy and find parts from US. still i guess the 350 turn key engine is more cheapper for me and easier to swap and install ,no headache .if im going with LS have to buy the carb kit, separate and have to install it,which is coast me more anyway i couldnt to find the 383 turnkey with same price as 350 ,they are higher ,at least 1000 $. |

Re: 75 GMC sierra classic face lift and conversion to short bed
Im back, its been while
but never gave up on my beast we had lot of progress on project which Im going to post gradually I had to move the car to other garage since the car has been slept for more than 1 year. we ended up to buy a LS1 engine which was belong to 04 GTO fortunately the engine was so clean and low mileage, but the jackyard guys didn't know how to cut the wires and they messed with it so the wires missed the cabin part and we had to repair it In addition they lost the pedal and key which was huge deal for us so we had to prioritize below jobs 1-remove VAT 2-since we didnt have pedal and cabin wires we had to convert from DBW to DBC thanks god we got the blue green ECM which has the DBC chip but we faced other issues as well my truck is full option and wanted to keep the AC, the GTO compressor is down the engine and we had to relocate it because was so tight in chassis so I bought the LS AC bracket and moved up another issue we faced was the oil pan, the GTO has front swamp oil pan which wont fit on truck, therefore I bought the GM Performance rear swamp oil pan and last was the headers and engine mount bracket luckily, speed engineering have well and fit designed for my application and here how it looks on engine in next post I dig in deep more about difficulty of repairing the wires and throttle body conversion Last edited by sam in vista; 12-18-2020 at 09:48 AM. |

Re: 75 GMC sierra classic face lift and conversion to short bed
Despite having the DBC chip in blue green ECM, its was not easy to convert from DBW
the harness repair had its own challenges because we had to change the TPS and IAC and their socket changed respectively. I made mistake and bought those chines 90MM throttle body with spacer to 85mm after repaid the wire completely I tried to start the engine, I was able to turn it on and keep it on idle smooth the only issue here was insanely loud whistling from TB but the main issue is the engine wont rev at all and drops the power I noticed the TB does not send any signal to the ECM double checked the TPS and wiring again, no issue I replaced the TB with factory Corvette LS1 TB, no result fuel pressure is good Injector needles are clean and tested under pressure; works great tried with airflow meter and without, but same MAF and MAP sensors are placed in their own slots have new spark plugs not sure why ECM does not read from TPS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO HELP here is the video : LS1 Whistling here is the parameters reading: Last edited by sam in vista; 01-04-2021 at 04:32 PM. |
