Cab roof replacement

[Short 3/4]

Need to do the dreaded cab roof rust repair before things get beyond the point of no return. Found good info in past threads, but have a few more questions.
-Looks like full roof panels are available now. Mines pretty rough, anybody have experience with the repops?
-Any advantage to using a panel bond type glue? Figure that way the spot welds wouldn't burn through all the new paint on the inaccessible inside of the double panels. Rust is really a problem here on the coast, and really don't want to do this twice. Of course I don't want it flying off on the freeway or on a bumpy dirt road either.

I haven’t tried a repop skin but did use a donor skin off another truck on my 65 so can’t say how the repops fit . I seen a guy use the repop skin on a YouTube video and he didn’t have any issues and he used the adhesive . I spot welded mine back on and burned my old patina paint I didn’t know about the new adhesives until after the fact .
I have to remove the roof skin on my 66 im building right now to do some metal repair above the windshield and will be using the adhesive this time around

Great info.
I think I like the guy who both panel bonds and welds on the roof, kind of a belt and suspenders approach. Both videos show them having great luck with the repo roof panel. Seems all the body guys I've talked to hate the repo stuff. I wonder if those roof panels are really that good, or they were both just lucky. Anybody out there used one? I hit the wrecking yards and used roofs are not much better than what I already have, and once you cut the top off a cab, they consider it junk, so want to sell you the whole cab.
Lots more to research before I start cutting, thanks for the input.
