Grant Steering Wheel too small ?

I recently installed a Grant Wheel, I think it was a #1180 like in Swervin's truck, but after installing it seemed kind of small. So I measured and got about 13 3/4". The wheel was supposed to be 14 3/4" and I do not think Grant even makes a 13 3/4" wheel.

So, I did measure straight accross correctly. Am I missing something, measuring wrong, got the wrong wheel, etc.?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

My Grant 1180 is 14-3/4" OS to OS. You sure you got a 1180?

Thanks. I will have to measure again tonight. Very odd, mine looks like yours and I think I ordered same as you, but nowhere near 14 3/4 ". And, I do not see a wheel like this on the Grant web site under 14".

To be continued................

MAN, that interior is the @#*%, i mean really, i love it. love the way you did the bucket seats with the center console and the shifter. any chance i can get some more details on it? like what is all involved in doing the shifter and the center console and the seats, where did you get the seats from adn did you make the center console, that i can do no biggie, just need to know about seats mainly, and how dificult it was to do the shifter. shoot me an e-mail sometime with some pics and stuff man.

Buy From Summit

Well, I started the thread about my "14 inch" Grant steering wheel really measuring 13.50 inches, and the bottom line is I got Grant to measure their #1130 wheel and admit it is 13.50 not 14.00 as advertised.

Problem is they said they cannot do anything about my specific problem, but will change the advertised size in upcoming catalogs.

I bought the wheel from SUMMIT RACING back in February 2004, explained the problem to them and they said......"No problem, just return the wheel for a full refund, fault of the manfacturer, and Summit even waived the re-stocking fee.

So, SUMMIT RACING is o/k in my book.

Thanks.

That is not small, look for a 8" steering wheel that is made out of chain. Then thank the lord that you didn't buy that one.
