Wonder if that piece is fiberglass? When I was in Autobody repair classes they taught us how to make duplicate parts from fiberglass. That would make it light enough to not need heavy duty struts to hold it up.

nicely done. the gas filler door is an absolute must. This access lid will be part of my next build. Does anybody know who's truck this is?

Definitely a lot of work. I did this for my fuel. Can still get fuel in even with a load.
