Rear lowering kit for 55 /59 3100?

It's TF guys brain picking time. Somewhere on line or in an add I thought I saw a kit that let TF guys move the spring mounts up on the frame rails to lower the truck without putting the axle on top of the spring and adding a C notch. Also to just get a 2 or 3 inch drop.

Has anyone seen this kit or has anyone raised the spring mounts to lower the rear of one?

My ongoing truck projects:
48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six.
71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

you swap the spring mounts side to side and mount on top of the frame
no kit needed

Thanks, I knew there was a way to get a mild drop without flipping the axle.

Re: Rear lowering kit for 55 /59 3100?

My buddy has done several subframed TF trucks (around 25) with later axles flipped on top of the springs because the guys he did them for wanted them real low. He usually just did the half a piece of pipe C notch in the rear as the guys didn't want to raise the bed floors but that does limit travel.

The guy who is wanting to do this one doesn't want it that low and his skill levels aren't much beyond remove and bolt on.

I think he's better off with extended shackles then vs. cutting out rivets and such. I could do the shackles with at least 3 IPA's in me!
