Vintage Auto Glass
Has any forum member used this company or had any experience with them? I will need all new glass as mine was delaminating and the windshield had several good sized stars from rock impacts. They list glass options as
Clear, Green tint, Smoke Gray (legal) and Bronze. Website- https://vintageglass.com/

Re: Vintage Auto Glass
I don't know them. That said there are a lot of online glass outfits.
There have to be some good glass shops in Austin that can cut flat glass for you and even install it for what will probably end up being less than buying it online and having it shipped. If not Waco Auto glass in Hewitt sure can. I used to work in a shop on the back side of the block from them when they were in down town Waco in the 70's and they are an old school glass shop. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/waco...-center-hewitt

Re: Vintage Auto Glass
you didnt say what kind of truck - AD or TF. If you have flat glass I would have a local shop cut it because the tolerance between trucks is not consistant an on line glass may not fit correctly

Re: Vintage Auto Glass
AT 87.50 per window for door glass and 45 each for wing windows and 92.50 for the back window you are looking at a minimum of 357.50 for flat glass plus probably 100 for shipping. Add another 300+ for a windshield and the cost of shipping and you are looking at between 8 and 900. I'd say you really need to check with local full service glass shops for a quote. You can always decide to pursue the online glass if local prices don't work out. Local being anywhere within 100 miles of where you sit. You might want to check with local hot rod and old car and truck folk to get some suggestions too. My wife grew up in McGregor and I worked in Waco the first eight years after we got married.

Re: Vintage Auto Glass
Checking classic truck parts tinted glass for a TF is 380.70 for all glass with a small back window and add 200 to that if you have a big back window. If you just want flat glass it is real reasonable.

Re: Vintage Auto Glass
In my area there is an old-line glass shop (as opposed to the insurance-mill franchise windshield replacers) that has all the original patterns for virtually any old car you can name, from Model Ts and up. Coincidentally, the owner's personal vehicle is an AD Chevy pickup.

Re: Vintage Auto Glass
Thank you for the replies. I will check around locally for a glass shop. Received a quote from Vintage Glass, it was a little high ($495). I recall another thread where someone stated the Truck Parts vendors were backordered. That is why I was exploring other options.

Re: Vintage Auto Glass
If you aren't up on local shops that still cut glass you might have to ask around a bit. With all the hot rod and old car activity in the Austin area there have to be some go to shops.
It's comparison shopping comparing what the local shops can and will do it for as apposed to buying online and also paying shipping.
