Black over Red
Does anyone own, or have a pic of a fleetside with a black roof, over a red body?
Getting ready for paint, I going to definitely go with red as the primary color. I see so many red trucks with the off-white top, and I think that looks nice, but somewhere I remember seeing a red truck with a black top and black inside the side mouldings, and thought that it looked cool. Any thoughts?? |

Re: Black over Red
black over orange (sorry) but it might give you an idea of what you're thinking about. Does the truck have side trim?

Re: Black over Red
All of the above are good looking combos. My 2 cents only - but I think the best path depends on the individual truck build. In other words, first decide if you want white or black as the secondary color (and either looks great). THEN, if you are building anything short of a full custom truck, I'd stick with the stock two tone paint scheme (i.e. even if you decide to go with black over red). While post 8 is a good look for a custom, it might look out of place on a daily driver or somewhat stock truck. Whereas the black over red in the standard two tone scheme would look great on either a stock-ish truck or a full custom. Something that makes one wonder "did that ever come in a stock combo? If not it should have been an option!" usually works pretty well. Again, just my 2 cents, but throwing it out there for consideration.

Re: Black over Red
I like the look of that custom one in post #3. It probably wouldn't be difficult to reposition the stock trim lower in the back like that.
