What's your favorite 60-66 build thread?
Lots of great build threads that y'all have been working on, so which ones are your favorite, and why?
One of my favorites is Markeb01 Build Thread. This was one of the first builds I read through completely. Took me a couple days, but it was worth it. A lot of great ideas and customization hidden in his build. Another favorite of mine is Chizzler's 1961 Crew Max. Why, you may ask? Because who doesn't love a crew cab truck? Makes me want one of my own I can't leave out SkinnyG's 61 Apache. Great detail on the ins and outs of rust repair hidden inside this one. Those are the first three that pop to my mind, now let's see what pops in yours. Oh yeah, your own build is probably your favorite, so link that one too

Re: What's your favorite 60-66 build thread?
I'm with you on Markeb01. His truck really epitomizes the old school hotrod pickup I dreamed of having as a young buck (with a worn out 6 cyl powered Mustang). As I was finally getting to build my old school hotrod truck, I read the whole thing and took some of his inspiration and used it in my own way. He's gone now, but that build thread needs to live on as a well detailed guide to building a clean, traditional styled rod on an ordinary guys budget.

Re: What's your favorite 60-66 build thread?
project buttercup
Buttercup will always be one of my favorites. I use to be able to look out my back door and see her a few houses down. malibukasey still has her, shes a bit different now. Like many of us he got busy, running clubs, getting married, having a son, not sure I should be sharing his story lol.. but buttercup is badass. I miss the days of being in the garage with them listening to plans, dreams and just having fun. We moved, they moved, life got in the way so to say. One of the best neighbors ever. Can't wait to see buttercup at the shows this year. He posted a pic of her the other day with this caption #buttercup take 4. Headed to @hccrestorations in the AM for a few tweaks. #roadpilotscc #c10clubnc @c10.nation @c10talk @united_by_trucks @qa1motorsports @guniwheel @porterbuilt @boydwelding @c10_fallrevival @level7motorsports #firstgenc10 @webuildracetrucks #webuildracetrucks I'd post the pic, but its on his personal page and that seems wrong. I'll ask permission in a few. |

I love dual snorkels. I've got part of a snorkel sitting in the garage, but have had other pressing matters on the truck. That picture is some good inspiration though!

Haven't been on this board long enough to offer an opinion, but seeing build threads that others like is a great idea for a new person like me.

Josh and I were talking about this over the weekend. I had forgotten how long it to Kasey to find it.

Then as I was on the hunt for a 60-66 (preferred a 64-66), I hung out here a LOT and soaked up as much information from the most popular thread (follow the stars and pages and replies columns above), to help me know what I was getting into and what to look for. I follow Frankentruck, pdx-sanity66, and Project: recycle, the most. There are many others I check in on, but not much gets frequently posted. I'll post into a thread a like so that it's marked that I've been there, and then I always check back when something new is up.

This was mine
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=446527 I copied a lot of ChevyRestoGuys mods into Woody. The other would be the make it handle thread. Plus, naturally everyone else's.... P. D

Re: What's your favorite 60-66 build thread?
I think my favorite is anything that The Astronaut posts. He gives me the inspiration to try for perfection and Clemdady for the same reason. I also followed Mark01 and still look at his thread from time to time. Recently I'm following Rocknrod and Skinny.

The astranaut, yes! "Project Goldilocks." Awesome
Also "Project '64 Cheapskate" is a great thread. "My 63 Farm Truck Build Thread" by Tx Firefighter. Actually, anything by Tx Firefighter is worth a read. Anything by dino. And for anyone new, "Project Vitamin C."

Re: What's your favorite 60-66 build thread?
Project Vitamin C-1 from Alan was my start and guide. The Rocknrod, cwcarpenter98, SkinnyG, Paul Y, Grizz1963, etc. I'm just sucking it all up. Not to forget the FAQ page and all those involved, that's a treasure, not many forums have that, this compressed knowledge.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Alan's truck. I was able to see it in person before he sold it about a year ago. It's an absolutely beautiful truck
