Is this the right door window run for my 87?

Hi all. 87 silverado, the passenger side power window is going up and down slowly. Very slowly. I have already replaced the window motor and regulator with new AC Delco parts. So I was surprised to see that it was still slow. I've also replaced the felts that you rest your arm on if the window is down.

But I have not replaced the felt that runs up to the top of the door, and down inside the door. I believe that may be causing the window to be slow. Is this the part that I need?

That should work for yours. You might want to read on tips relays Mod to help with your problem. There is a few listing on the board topic. And other boards, internet sits.

Is it more likely that the relay mod is what's really needed to fix the problem?

Yes. But it would not hurt to change the part listed in the link. But if yours are soft pliable and not ripped then reuse yours then. But it take some time for the seal work in an break-in to smooth out may have to be re-adjusted down the road.
But the biggest help for most is the Relay Mod because it take the load off the switches put the power window motor where it is needed save the switches burning out shorting the contacts on the switches and or over heating the switches.(( but after the mod you still have to have the glass tracks lubricated "greased" and the roller have to be checked not cracked stuck or broken, missing chunks out of them. Make sure the rollers are in the tracks.)) Then the Relay Mod works the best takes the eclectic load of the motor and the switches. In some cases it can be a sign the motor starting to go bad if over heated for mean year with out fixing. If it been doing this for a long long time with out any or all problems fixed.

Re: Is this the right door window run for my 87?

Here is how to wire a door pair of relays (2 needed for each window) if you just want to buy your own relays instead of an overpriced kit.

Relay Wiring:
85 - power from the window switch
86 - ground
87 - power from the junction block
87a - ground
30 - to the window motor

Re: Is this the right door window run for my 87?

Thanks for the help!

Has anyone rigged up automatic windows in one of these old trucks? If I'm going to be in there doing relays, I may as well take the time to install an automatic window system. So you don't have to hold the switch down anymore:

There's also these two:
