Classic Industries vs LMC

LMC's economy line is not worth the thread they wasted on them. Don't fit and material so thin it stretches out the stitching holes. This was a Cheyenne/Sierra cover. This is one of the reasons I stopped buying from LMC. Another reason is the get you on shipping by using the dollar amount not size and weight.

Both LMC & Classic Industries Seat Cover are made by ACME. Just as special-k said, they are thin and the sizes fluctuates so much, to too big-too small. If I were to recommend anyone for a seat cover, USA1 Industries. I have used several of there covers in the past. Handmade in the USA, and excellent quality. I restore Benchseats for our trucks, mainly 73-87’s. But I know they have seat covers for a lot of different years.

Classic Industries! As mentioned earlier, LMC normally sells the cheapest crap they can get their hands on. That is exactly why they are last on my list to purchase from. Granted, some items are only produced cheaply by one company, so no matter who you buy it from it will be crap. Check out the site vendors, several of them have exclusive, high quality items made just for them.

Wanted to give a shout out to classic industries. I ordered a bunch of red interior pieces. The dash pad box showed up damaged. I emailed the photos to them, and didn’t even have to ask for a refund or replacement, and I didn’t have to waste time shipping it back. They simply replied that a replacement was on the way. It showed up today triple boxed.

Classic industries is my first go to. Reliable, decent parts and fair shipping. Always prefer and use board venders when I can. Shipping can kill the deal though. Understand it is not their fault. While I am not a penny pincher there is a point when it does not make sense. LMC is my second to last choice in parts. Only use them when they are the only vender with the part.

Hello all… I just finished up my frame and will now start to buy parts to put it all together.

How do I find the site vendors? Are they all used parts?

For all the frame parts, I will buy new. Suspension, brakes, lines, etc..

The body parts it will be a combination I am sure. Who can I add to the list below?

I know a lot of folks here don't seem to like LMC, but I can say they have been good with me the last 20 years. Parts were same quality that the others seem to supply and have not had any issues with LMC otherwise. I have used Classic Industries some and only thing I can say is much of the time I went to LMC cause Classic didn't have what I was looking for. Other than that, both are fine. AS mentioned I try and use those who support the board or local venders or shows. Especially for large parts to avoid shipping.

I like to spread my business around to different vendors and I'll have to say that I have bought a substantial amount of parts from LMC.

So far, I have had pretty good luck with their products. For a while they were the about the only source for parts that no one else had in stock.

I bought a full set of seat covers and foam for my '70 Blazer from them.
The foam was from Dashes Direct and the covers were manufactured by PUI both fit very well and I was pleased with the results.

I bought new fenders for my '67 stepside bed because no one else had them at the time. They are APEC brand and they fit very well. The only modification was to the corner radius where it fit against the step.

I also try to buy products and parts, both new and used, from the vendors and members here on the board whenever possible.

Summit is my go to for a lot of parts , They carry most everything Like Mar-K , Auto metal direct . Trique easy latches ,Etc and free shipping is always good ! I use their wish list option and will wait to order parts until the total reaches their $100. level for free shipping .

It is not necessarily a problem with the parts at LMC. I find it common they list a part in stock or ready for drop ship and it is not. The same with Brothers. I find shipping costs are higher with them as well. Why they are both at the bottom of my list. Classic industries at least lets you know part is on backorder. The other two do not. Summit is also very good with letting you know the status of your order.
