Seeking advices

Hello,
Got two issues, 1st is Im planning to buy step sides bed for my 1978 GMC truck and have contacted
- Mar-k in Oklahoma city who quoted me 2,400$ + 550$ shipping to New Jersey port.
-LMC for the same parts asked for 2,000$ free shipping to NJ Port.

My questions are
how good is LMC beds ?
How good are Mar-k beds?
What is the cheapest way to ship from Oklahoma to NJ?
Do you recommend other manufacturer?

I wish I can buy used but my country doesn’t allow used parts.

Thank you

Re: Seeking advices

I learned something today. Hadn't heard of Mar-K until this post. May have to go by and check them out.

No clue on quality, it has been a while since I needed a sheet metal part that I couldn't get from a salvage yard.

Does it have to go out from NJ? Lots of stuff comes in and out of Galveston TX.
Tulsa OK even has the Port of Catoosa. Mostly barge traffic though.

I'm not sure about the LMC parts, but I do know this - you won't be disappointed with Mar-K, their quality is second to none.

Re: Seeking advices

I have never heard anything but good things about Mar K. That being said last time I checked they only made stepside beds. I have bought 2 complete fleetside beds from LMC. One for my 61 Chevy and another for a 67 f100 and both seem to be pretty good. I would go for the mar K first but I don't think there would be anything wrong with an LMC bed.

Re: Seeking advices

I've never seen what lmc has, but I do have a full mar k bed for my AD... I dont think you'll ever be disappointed by spending more for mar k... it's worth it..
As for shipping, that's gonna suck no matter

Re: Seeking advices

Mar-k is top notch . Have you tried Summit for the parts ? I bought a Mar-k wood bed kit free shipping but there was a small oversized surcharge it was about 30$ . I have also bought moldings from summit that were Mar-k again only an oversized charge .

When I bought the bed Mar-k was having a sale but even with their sale price the shipping made it more than from summit at regular price. Summit won’t honor a 20% off sale unless the final price with shipping is less than their regular price.

You having it shipped to port Jersey then shipped to you ?
