Wow, that is clean. It's got the MM7 4 speed with overdrive option to boot.

That's a nicely-optioned truck! It would be nice if it had a 350, but I'm sure the 305 is plenty for a smaller truck like that.

On a side-note -- Some of those 85-88 grilles had a painted stripe in the middle. Was this painted stripe always the same as the body color? Were they only painted when equipped with dual headlights?

Yes, and yes.

Here now, the caveats:

1) The stripe wasn't actually "painted". It was a thick, durable adhesive tape applied to the stainless trim.

2) The stripe was body colored for all typical or regularly offered colors. In the event of a special or fleet color the stripe was a primer grey color.

3) Yes - only the dual headlamp RPO V22 got this. The base grille was molded solid and did not have a place for the stripe.

Awesome truck. Tires are date coded correct for the year of build, Obviously the white letters were turned in at some point. Original exhaust system with cat would be cool to revive with the brackets and cat shield. Would have to put an nos rear sport bumper on and factory bumper guards on front. Ziebart sure takes away the beautiful shiny door jambs now but who would have known it was never going out in the winter.

I would buy the 18 mile 1989 Blazer K5 long before this stepside, given if they end up same money but both are sure time capsules to my era of having a number of new GM trucks all through my years.

So let me ask the question. Folks who buy these super low mile vehicles (cars or trucks) what do they do with them. Do they drive them or just put them in their collection and they never see the light of day again? Not saying either way is bad but I'm just curious.

Give it to their 16 year old spoiled brat rich kid for his or hers first old vehicle to destroy. Laugh but I have seen this done with super nice classics. Maybe not at $147k though.

Or maybe he needed to launder 147K??

I too wonder what happens to these. All I can see is this thing entering a dust free, climate controlled building with a number of other vehicles. Or he'll keep it in the garage and brag to his buddies when they come over... who knows.
