Re: Brake linings confusion.

Little update. Finally got the axle conversion kit. Just had to get 63 axle seals, from what i am seeing the difference between 63 and the later type is od and 63 have another outer lip most probably dust deflector of some sort. The od is different by 1mm or .040" . Later type being bigger.

Also had a bit of luck with the shoes. I forgot about them, but found a spare set in the garage cupboard. Must have ordered a second set waaay back then for spare for my impala. At least some savings for the budget at this stage. Staying manual adjusted for now, budget is only so much and new brake pipes is getting priority after a pipe on differntial broke off just trying to loosen tube nut. Pipe is really thin from wear on outside.
Wheel cylinders was replaced somewhere in its life.
Only had one piston stuck, luckily by dirt and not oxidising. New seals installed.

Sadly they are not 1" bore. 1 ¹/⁸ in size. Funny thing is it worked without locking up. Not sure if it could be the big wheels or something else. Original master was 1 ¹/⁸ as single circuit , i changed to a 1" drum/drum master that came from my impala. Changing to corvette style master now with gm style prop valve. Will probably have to get an adjustable valve to limit rear pressure a bit more just for incase.

Cheers.
Adriaan.
