I did the same as forestb, but me being cheap used a Lokor knock off kit like this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/40355778437...Bk9SR8iIupXXYg

Granted, I was doing a 350/350 combo but there are no detents in the column to let you feel the gear you selected, that feel is the feedback from the transmission as it mechanicaly goes through the gears.
