Re: Clicking noise
I heard an unusual ticking on my '71 GMC Jimmy K/1500. It wasn't the fan hitting the fan shroud. It wasn't the wheel spacers under my 235/75/16 tires -- I pulled those and re-installed my 33x12.50x15 meats... Still clicked.
Finally, I checked out my front Prop Shaft. A bearing cap was coming loose. I went to R&R the U-Joint, and found the double-carden joint had been beating itself to death. I took it to a driveshaft specialist. He said it was shot. New ones are about $300 - 500. I can cannibalize the one off my '67 K/10 Suburban later. For now, I pulled it, and have a ''rare'' 2WD Jimmy. ![]()
