1972 C10 Project SWB 2wd
With plenty of Irons in the fire right now, I am kicking around the idea of selling this project I have had now for 5+ years. I have been tinkering with these trucks all my life. I know we all hear the story of a clean, rust free, original example of a nice truck. I can full heartedly tell you, this is a super clean and original example of just that. I’ll do my best to be brief and to the point. I do not need to sell this truck. However, it’s been on the back burner for far to long.
The truck was shipped here to Pennsylvania from California and the sheet metal is mint. Original cab corners, rockers, and mounts. I had everything blasted and epoxy primed inside and out. I never got the bed but I have an Original tailgate in great shape and I ordered a complete bed from Southern Kentucky Classics last year. This past fall I painted the cab, doors, rad support, and inner fenders, with the plans to start on the fenders and hood in the next month. I have all the materials to finish the entire truck in green. The Chassis is an original short bed that I had blasted and painted in a tough Urethane semi-gloss black. I purchased a complete Early Classic drop kit, sway bar, trailing arms, panhard kit, and spindles. I have used their stuff in the past and it has always been top notch. I actually got one of the very last set of trailing arms they produced before closing. The drop is a 4/5 drop and I made a custom 5/8-inch-thick block to give it just an ever so slight rake. I know, OCD much. The Engine is a 1970 LT1 block, align honed, bored 30 over, balanced, etc.. Original M/T valve covers I restored, Dart Aluminum heads, scorpion roller rockers, Edelbrock performer intake, high flow water pump and fuel pump. I have all the receipts and I can get into the specifics if need be. Transmission is a T56 6 speed I did a mid-shift conversion on. I also had the tail shaft machined for a factory speed-o-meter cable to use the factory gauges. New clutch and correct flywheel to mount to an old school small block. The transmission has a .50 6th gear which will work nice the tire and gear set I selected for the truck. The rear end has 4.10 gear set with a truetrac posi. New aftermarket axles and girdle. I could go on and on with the fine details. Here is a list of the money I have invested thus far. I am sure I am leaving out all the small nickel and dime stuff that adds up. AC Cab, Doors, Fenders, Hood, Sore Support, Inner Fenders, Miscellaneous interior stuff $7500 Cassis, Sandblasting, Painting $1500 ECE Drop Kit, Sway bar, Trailing Arms, Panhard Kit, Spindles and Backing plates, U bolts $2000 Rear End Parts and Labor $1500 Paint Materials $1500 Engine, Parts, and Machine work $5000 T56 Transmission and parts $2000 Bed Southern Kentucky and OEM tailgate $2500 Total $23,500 I am not really interested in parting out the truck. I am really looking for someone who is interested in completing a project or buying as a whole and then you can do what you will with it. I have a ton of pictures if requested. I have a ton of parts as well and the little miscellaneous things needed to complete the project. I am open to fair offers for a project. If interested, please let me know. Thank you. |

Thank you. That is just what I have in it. I will take considerably less than that. I am open to offers.

Someone is going to get a deal if your asking less than what you've invested. Good luck!

Re: 1972 C10 Project SWB 2wd
I'll be painting the bedsides this week. After that, just the hood, cowl, and tailgate. Then it is on to all the fun stuff. I'll probably finish the truck now as it will be worth a whole lot more completed. However, anything is for sale for the right amount of money.

I wish all my money wasn't on the other side of the country. Would whoever has it please send at least enough back east to buy this truck?

Re: 1972 C10 Project SWB 2wd
Only thing left to paint is the tailgate, hood, and cowl. Once everything is painted I will finish the interior and wiring. At that point, I may as well finish the truck. I am not sure if I will post the truck on here when it is complete or not.

Re: 1972 C10 Project SWB 2wd
Anything is for sale. I can't let it go for my original asking price. It is completely painted now. Working on the wiring now and then I'll start on the interior. I'll hope to have it running and driving this Spring/early Summer.
