74 C30 Reproduction Battery Cables
Does anyone reproduce the correct battery cables for our trucks yet? I really don't want to use the generic aftermarket cables. 74 C30 with a 454

Nothing that I can think of. We just want to keep the truck as original as possible. We are the second owners and it's a complete unrestored Cheyenne Super Trailering Special.

FWIW, I got new AC Delco side post cables for my dad's 75 (second owner since 76). Thicker gauge than factory. Electrical is a good area to upgrade IMHO.

Re: 74 C30 Reproduction Battery Cables
Yup ... did the same thing on my Nova & Dad's 77 GMC. Although they don't look exactly like the originals, the new AC Delco cables are pretty similar. Biggest difference is that the battery ends have red & black rubber boots that slide on over the terminals as opposed to being permanently molded on like the originals. And the starter end has a plain ring terminal without the little "index tang" that fits into the notch on the starter solenoid.

Re: 74 C30 Reproduction Battery Cables
I gotcha...but if your having to change it, then it's not original anymore anyway

Re: 74 C30 Reproduction Battery Cables
Might consider using cables from sites catering to Camaros and such. A lot of things from that era were shared across much of GM. A repo cable for a Camaro or Pontiac won't look out of place on your truck, assuming post types and such match.
