Re: What denotes the C/10 vs Custom/10 emblems
Yeah, I don't doubt that my truck is a base model C/10. Especially with the "long list" of options on the SPID. My assumption is that a particular plant, St Luis in my case, was putting Custom glove box doors on C/10 pickups. That's why I was wondering where Becker67's C/10 was built. My truck has had one exterior repaint but the interior paint, blue date of manufacture sticker and SPID remain original.

Again, the number of options has nothing to do with trim level. You could have a '69 C/10 SWB with 396/TH400, posi rear, upper and lower trim, wood bed floor, A/C, and bucket seats. And you could have a '69 CST/10 SWB with 6cyl/3spd, no posi, metal floor, no A/C, and bench seat

Re: What denotes the C/10 vs Custom/10 emblems
I'm still trying to figure out why my truck has Z84 on the SPID and doesn't have the stainless trim in the windshield gasket. Did I just misunderstand it? Can't tell by the back glass, because that gasket was replaced by the boot that connected the cab to the camper shell.

Re: What denotes the C/10 vs Custom/10 emblems
I guess some of the discrepancies can be attributed to factory errors. It was just part of the times, as build quality was not consistent then.

Re: What denotes the C/10 vs Custom/10 emblems
This whole thread is an example of why we have RPOs.
Z61 Z62 Z84 YE9 or whatever or none All of the emblems and noun names and content are tied to that engineering shorthand. Otherwise you get into this battle of a thousand words that we see here. If the discussion continues I would encourage you all to frame it into those buckets (by model year). I think it will help. K

When we introduced the Volt in 2011 the interior was a hodgepodge of funky electrical looking patterns and trim colors and interior door trim panel colors and radio center stack colors and seat colors. After much study I came to realize that the Hamtramck plant was building every car wrong. They looked better than how it was defined, but were wrong. For 2012 I was able to introduce a change so that they looked right and were supported by the engineering documentation. For a while there I think I was the only guy in the industry who knew what it was supposed to look like. Sorry for the hi jack. K

Re: What denotes the C/10 vs Custom/10 emblems
A11 on the SPID. I will note that my FiL was an insurance adjuster. He had this truck repainted for free (my wife says) by a local body shop, and the white/orange/white is now white/orange. It wouldn't have taken a whole lot of effort by those body shop guys to paint the lower part white again. I do remember asking him why it hadn't been done back to original, and he got kind of irritated for me asking. Given that my FiL wasn't real concerned about originality, I wouldn't be surprised if he had the windshield replaced and told the glass shop to not bother with the stainless trim. I don't actually care about that, it just seems strange for it not to have been there. Also, when I cleaned up the roof and repainted it before having the cabover camper shell installed, I replaced that gasket. I figured it was original, as it was as hard as rock, and I used a box cutter to cut around the windshield so that I wouldn't break it when pulling it out. I'll look at it tomorrow when it's light out. It may not now be a tinted windshield? I dunno.
