6.2 fuel sending unit advice
I have a cummins swapped k30 crew cab and recently my tank started leaking so I got a new tank and a diesel sending unit for the driver side. The problem I have is the new diesel sending unit has a ground wire attached to nothing in it and I have no idea where it goes because the old gas unit does not have the same wiring. Anyone have any idea where it should go? I dont like the idea of a wire just lose in the tank. and info would be greatly appreciated!

On my diesel 85 K30 the sending unit ground wire passes through the frame right around the back of the cab and attached to a stud on the inside of the c-channel there. Probably anywhere you can ground it to the frame would be sufficient.

Looks like an optional power lead for an internal pump, but I would drill a small hole in that flat bracket and put an electrical eyelet on it, solder it, and bolt it on.

What year did you specify for the new sender? 82-83 had the water in fuel sender in the fuel tank when they used the spin on fuel filters and would account for the internal wire.

They used two spin on filters for 82-83. One on the firewall, one on the back of the intake.
