1987 tbi fuel pump

Will the pump assembly for an ‘87 tbi truck fit in the earlier (‘81) carb truck tanks?

I don't think so, the part #'s for the tanks are different for '87 and up TBI trucks. I think the hole is a bit larger.

It will fit, I have a 87 fuel sender/pump in a 83 tank, I then switched out to a new 87 tank with the baffle in it for FI.

Thanks. I thought it looked like the same size opening on the two tanks. I never found the dimensions, but thanks for the reply.

Good to know. Maybe the only difference is the baffle.

I am pretty sure the only differences are 16 and 20 gallon, the 20 being for a long bed truck, and in 87 they added the FI baffle, speaking on just the Trucks.
