PS Pump pictures?
Anyone have a picture of the BBC power steering pump that has the remote resevoir on it. I need one for my 454 and am considering altering a standard pump. I know how costly the factory ones are!

Rod, Do you have a picture that I would be able to better see where and how the nipple for the hose is attached? Thanks

Bill72BB, I'm really interested in a close shot of where the hose connects and would also like to see where the remote resevoir is mounted.

I can get you whatever pctures you need off of my truck when I get off work in the morning.
The reservoir mounts on the left fender, right behind the little triangle core support to fender brace. There is a great diagram in the factory manual showing exactly where and how to drill the reservoir mounting holes on the fender. There are two different locations for the reservoir, depending on whether your truck has one or two batteries under the hood. I used the manual diagram to drill the holes on my truck when I converted from manual steering 6 cylinder to power steering big block.

Mine was leaking there and I was able to solder it with a propane torch and 50/50. I replaced the pump but when you do you only get the pump, not the housing. It is also press fitted on though easy to change. I could have ordered one with housing but the availability was unknown. I would bet you could just get a brass heater hose outlet and solder it on. for the hose connection to the remote tank. Well now that I think about it, maybe not if you are using a small block pump. Not sure if the housing come off of them like the BB. Rick H...
