You guys that have swapped in a fuel cell, what did you do with the vent fitting? Did you run a line from it to your charcoal canister...or what?

You can use the charcoal canister, on my chevelle I just ran a line up above the tank top & curled the line(like a phone cord) so the gas wouldnt slosh out of it...

if you plan to race your truck any at the strip you need to install a rollover valve in the vent(not cheap, $32 last time i bought one).

if its aluminum cell it has a rolover valve in it just put a fitting and hose going down to nothing if its plastic put a vent in it and call it a day mine is aluminum

My aluminum one has the rollover vent in it, but the gas smell is obnoxious.

hey rat, can you get a better pic of the valve you close, i have a 16 gallon plastic tank in mine and when i open the bed cover its awful, hate to be smoking a cig and blow up the house.

problem is when in the sun the tank will swell if it has no where to vent the fumes.

You loose octane points when it is open to the air and I sure he needs all the octane he can get with that truck.

I have mine vented straight down throught the floor of the bed.

man some people.....

the valve is for parking in the garage !!!!! so you don't blow your family up.....not sitting outside in the sun...

You are right i am dumb. BUT,,, every vehicle vents the gas fumes. If it didn't then they would swell do to heat alone.

never had a problem in my garage....insulated.....alway's cooler than outside....

i have had more problem's remembering to open the valve not to pull a vacuum on the tank with my star 500 electric fuel pump...supports upto 2000 H.P. that thing really pumps.....
don't ever want that 1250 dominator running dry !!!!!!!!

yeah i had mine plugged off when sitting outside cause of rain and if I forgot to open it, the carb would run dry. But all I have is an aeromotive 150gph and NOS pumps with a little holley 800 (i am poor)

This is the only one that I have of the cell, its not very good. I eventually am going to put one between the rear frame rails. The right side is the feed, obviously, and the left is the vent. The vent dumps about 6 inches below the floor. I dont have any fume problems.
