Thanks, the funny thing is on the 100th page I'm still cutting out rust I'll get it eventually Quote:
Yeah I managed to cut out the rust and make up the filler pieces. Now I just need to get my brother over here to weld them in. I also fixed a few areas on the back of the cab where I didn't like the bodywork, dam perfectionist in me I also bodyworked the front window channel from the previous rust repairs we did there. Had some surface rust to deal with before sealing it up with epoxy and smoothing it out with filler.

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
I cut out two other areas on the inside of the cab on the top of the back wall by the interior light that needed some work as well. It's not something I wanted to do but it needed to be done. I'm just hoping that is it for the patch work.

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Keith I would hazard a guess and say that there is probably tons of other work that you can complete while waiting for your brother to come over and weld in new metal so don't let that stop you from doing the other things that need to be done.
Unforeseen issues aren't the end of the world in fact they are par for the course when working on a 46 year old truck, you should expect them and you shouldn't let it bother you, simply fix it and move on to the next issue like you have been doing for years during the restoration. You have done an amazing job and now you are a few steps from the finish line, finish strong brother! Last edited by Xeen; 09-17-2014 at 10:26 AM. |

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Haven't worked on it in weeks, so no progress. Your right it's a beautiful weekend hear to paint but unfortunately I'm no where near painting anything. I do plan on working on it tomorrow, just having a hard time keeping interest at this point between numerous setbacks and the realization of what still needs to be done

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Got back at it today, spent most of the day sanding old paint and primer from the cab. I finished the bodywork on the firewall as I had one little section I didn't get done when I initially did the firewall.
I also mounted my custom emblems on the doors, what's another couple holes per door

Looking good buddy. Hang in there. I'm kind of feeling your pain as I'm working through bugs with mine. Fix one, two more appear.
