Re: Post Your Ride 60-66 Trucks
Yup.. I am due for a cage.. I actually bought the tube, bent the main hoop thinking I was going to put a 6-point in it, but I think I decided I will opt for a 10 point seeing as what it ran with a not so good small N20 pass. So now I need to buy a lot more different tube..

Re: Post Your Ride 60-66 Trucks
I bet all those tuners you were racing were confused...
A straight front axle would probably help with your handling after launch,A guy called shakey puddin on the H.A.M.B. switched his 55 chev from independent to straight after he got into the wall, and he swears by the handling of it now. He is running an injected bbc 55 chevy in the 9's, and about the same weight as you. |

Re: Post Your Ride 60-66 Trucks
Heres a picture or two of my 1961. I bought last fall off Craigslist with a flat bed on it. I bought a very rough short fleetside box for a $100.00 and installed it for now. The right quarter is pretty bad. The steering, suspension, brakes, original 235 etc. are all rebuilt. Future plans are 73-87 front suspension different rear and a 5.3. This is my first attempt at pictures.[IMG]C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Pictures\cars\2007[IMG][IMG][/IMG][/IMG]_11_27\2008_03_30[/IMG]

Sorry. Didn't work for me either. Doesn't look like I am going to be able to fix it right now. Can't find the right combination.

Here she is.
1965 GMC 305V6, with holley 500 3 speed on column Here's what she looked like when i bought her. Here's what she looks like now after about $200 worth of Rustoleum Gloss Black. I plan on keeping the interior org. and lowering the truck, eventually with bags. Have WIDE whites and steelies in black. Last edited by GMC65Guy; 08-23-2008 at 09:33 PM. |

Re: Post Your Ride 60-66 Trucks
I am new to this web-site and can honestly say you guys know your $*#+.
I have gotten so many ideas just from the pictures. Here is the girl I stole off of craigslist. My youngest calls her Ms.kermit. I can't wait to get started...And any help, comments and suggestions will be welcomed. The first 2 pictures my oldest took with her cell phone. I will have more pictures as progress goes. She is a 1963 Fleetside with the 305 v6, looks like she is 99% original. Also, Whoever is responsible for this web-site..Nice freaking job

Re: Post Your Ride 60-66 Trucks
Wheels are from Pete Paulsen. I believe Stockton Wheel makes similar ones.
17x8 fronts and 17x10 rears. They don't have the 17x10's anymore on their website(there were custom/special order when bought) http://petepaulsen.com/Catalogofwhee...e%20Wheels.htm I think the wheels & tires really make the truck. |
