neither would i.
You can spray urethane clear over alkyd enamel or acrylic enamel but the requirement is you must activate (hardener) the enamel and let set 4 hours or overnight for best results and then clear

Re: It ain't over till it's over.

Got a little bit done today. Gonna have to pick up another paint gun. One we had just took a crap. It was a cheap Walmart brand. Knew we were gonna have to get one anyways. Spent most of the day cleaning up the garage where we're gonna paint the truck. Got a few things done to the truck itself. So no paint this weekend, everything was kinda out of place, had to look for everything when we started to do things, but it's getting there.

Re: It ain't over till it's over.

Here's the pic of my cousins Iroc S10. It was taken at a car show that they were holding downtown at the Von Braun Center. Sorry it's not good quality. it's a scanned pic. It's all he has is photos. None on disc or so forth.

we got a new paint gun ordered. so this weekend we'll be working on finishing up the paint booth. you can see it in the pics above, but it's a 24x22 building in front of the truck.
it's not the small garage you see in other pic. gotta get my mom's van and cousins mustang out of there and finish cleaning up. making a temporary set of doors. then we maybe can start doing some painting.

Making some great progress. Can't wait to see what it looks like with some paint on it. I think it's gonna look awesome.

Re: It ain't over till it's over.

thanks. we've decided to hold off on paint. just not right weatherwise. besides that, we still have the cowl hood to fab and some more electrical stuff to hook up. gonna put the hangers in the rear back to original position and do a drop kit, and get some three inch spindels for the front.

Re: It ain't over till it's over.

My stepdad just passed away this past weekend, and he was the only father that I ever knew
He had walked over from his apartment across the street and saw what we had done to the truck a few months ago. With a big smile on his face, he said he liked that. "Taught you well, didn't I boy?" So we've decided to go with a little different route. A long time ago, me and him built a dragster kinda. Got the motor and tranny, but never did finish. So we're going with a bigger motor, and a few more changes before we go to paint. I'm hoping I will be able to change the build thread to honor his memory and what he meant to me and our family. Thank you... Gary.

Well, to be honest with you, i didn't take any pics when we did that. but what we did was took two sets of hasps, using the loops, screwing one in on the side of the bed itself, and the other on the tailgate, dropped bolts down through them. planned on a TAILGATE HANDLE RELOCATOR
kit , just hadn't got around to it yet. thanks to the gentelman for his remarks on giving me a break.

but if you need pics look HERE
