Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window
Thanks! All the orange peel is completely sanded out of the top of the dash so that's reaaaaally lookin glassy.

Thanks! Thanks man! I wish my entire cab was in red like yours! I need to get my fenders and doors on and get them gapped first before I wanna spray the rest, but the rest of the cab's pretty much ready! Thanks a lot! Thanks me neither!! Then I can really get to work on the interior. Last edited by David67; 06-21-2011 at 10:29 PM. |

Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window
I've been sanding down various places with 2000 grit paper, then buffing with rubbing and polishing compound.

Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window
The house got hit by lightning this morning! It completely went down a few 70 ft. pine trees and onto the roof. Loudest thing I've ever heard in my life!!! We smelt smoke at first but my mom called the Fire Dept. and they checked it to be ok.
In other news, I picked up a new radiator/grill support. The old one was rotted out pretty bad, especially under and around where the battery was. |

Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window
Sorry to hear about the lighting strike, glad everything is OK. Typical on a lot of the radiator supports (Jimbo's was bad). Truck is looking good.....Jim

Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window
I blasted and painted the lever while my brother sanded and painted the knob white with black numbers. Sanded between coats so everything's very smooth. I also put a chrome nut on there to break everything up. Details!

Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window
Yep.....that looks awesome. I like the 4 speed, that adds character! Same shift pattern as my old 68 VDub.

Nice truck My 67 has the same 4 speed but mine needs a little work, it doesn't like to stay in 3rd gear

Re: Project: 1967 C10 Small Window
A few days ago, I couldn't resist bolting up the fenders. The bed is on there now and it looks like it's sitting lower in the back (where it should be). I know there's a bit more weight to go on still but I'm not sure if it'll compress the springs that much. Regardless, I'm going to wait till it's all together to really look at it but I wanted to know yalls thoughts at this point...especially those who've run an Early Classic 4/6
