Re: Silver Dollar

I made a video of the truck in action. I plan on listing it for sale soon and thought this video would help.

Man you did a fantastic job on that truck. Wouldn't be surprised to see it in a magazine! Good luck with the sale!

Re: Silver Dollar

Where did you pick up those outside vette mirrors? And was there any modification to get them to bolt on??

its what I do, I love building them more them driving then. Dont get me wrong I love driving them, when there not that nice. I'm fearfull that something might happen to them after all that work. I would sooner build a super nice one, and drive one with not so much super

this my daily driver, Im not to worried about scratches and dings on this one, and when its running right I enjoy driving it.

I got them on ebay, but you can find them in many corvette restro catalogs. No I didnt need any modifications, but when i was doing all my body work, welding in all the emblem and trim holes, I also welded in the mirror holes. So when i finally found the mirrors I wanted to use, I just drilled new holes for the vette mirrors. They will not fit where your stock c/10 mirrors were.

Re: Silver Dollar

Do those mirrors sit high enough on the door to be fully visible? From here at my desk it looks like they'd be half cut off by the door. I suppose that depends largely on how high you're seated / how tall you are.

for me the drivers side is perfect and the passenger just a small portion of the corner is cut off by the wing window. but if i were a little taller it would be good. Im only 5' 6" so any one a little taller, could see the whole mirror, with no problem. There was a fine line between where it looked good and function. So I split the difference.

driver side

Thanks for the info! Hope it was clear that it wasn't a criticism of your project (which is godly) but info for planning my own.

I think it works well, with that being said, I have never rode in a truck or car that has used real lizard skin so its hard to compare. What I have noticed is the truck has a more solid fell and sound to it. compared to the other trucks iv owned and the 86 i currently drive it dosent have the same tinny sound or feel about it as the others have. Im not sure if its in my head or what but I think it does feel cooler inside. maybe its because I look cooler in it.
