So in all you guy's vast knowledge does anyone reproduce the "correct" rear view mirror for the 69? The one in the truck is hazed pretty good.

Is a rear view mirror listed on the SPID? In 69 the rear view mirror was an option, at least on the 3/4 ton trucks. It was stainless. Is yours mounted on the windshield or cab roof? My 69 didn't have one. I finally bought a 72 mirror in 72. It was black and mounted on the windshield.

How's it mounted? Glued to the windshield or screwed to the cab roof?

It is screwed to the cab roof and it is black. This one is also day night. I was trying to upload some photos from my phone but I can't get the photo manager to work I will send them to my PC and post them later.

Re: 1969 C20, CST. 396, 21,000 mile documented Survivor
Got the truck back today. As you know the Road Ready Wheels did not allow the restored hub caps to "pop on" tight so I ordered a set of wheels from Summit, Dorman actually. They came in Thursday and I mounted the Michelin's on them. Hub caps knock on tight like they should. Mounted the wheels today and removed the AM/FM radio that I discovered came out of a van through a member here. The correct AM radio converted to FM & Blu tooth will be here Wednesday.

Both front drums are missing the brake shoe inspection plugs. Easy enough. Wheel cylinders and brake shoes are new all around.

It really cleans up the front end. And too me they stick out like a sore thumb. I also polished all the bright work today with Blue Magic. I will start on the paint Monday. I will clay bar the entire truck followed by a good coat of Carnuba wax. It should come out very nice.

I need the correct antennae since this one is broke at the base. Anyone reproduce one? Telescoping mast since its an AM.

Is this antennae original? It is telescoping and broke at bottom.

if I recall correctly, when FM radios were first used in cars the the antennas still telescoped, and the user's manual said to set them to 31" for best results.

The bumper guards didn't leave marks on the bumpers? Lucky guy!
An AM/FM mast should be a solid rod, about 33" long. That has to do with frequency matching the FM part of the RF spectrum. AM radio can require adjustment due to the range of frequencies.

The boot on the mirror arm appears to be a 70 or 71 version. The 69 boot was unique based on what I've read on this forum.

Re: 1969 C20, CST. 396, 21,000 mile documented Survivor
When I installed an AM/FM in my truck, I used a solid antenna mast from a late 70s or 80s Chrysler product (not sure what model). It screwed right into the original base.
