Pulled my rear drums off, cleaned all the dust and cobweb out of them and adjusted shoes. And did some block sanding on my bed.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Installed wiper arms, trial fit the cowl, got the vac booster mounted, installed the heater, put the radiator in, mounted a quick mount gps/mp3, made a power steering resovoir mount, mounted the windshield squirter resovoir, still delaying the wiring way too complicated, got the windshield and back window in..........coming soon, doors, hood, grille surround....

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
I decided to try out an idea that's been rattling around in my head for awhile. I always thought some contemporary Corvette wheelcovers might look like something someone would do back in the day. I had been shopping for some cheap ones on eBay. Then, my dad independently came up with the same idea, so I felt justified. These are from a '65 Corvette. They aren't perfect, but I did strip all the black paint out and repaint them after someone did a horrible job with a paintbrush. They didn't cost a lot, so I figure they're a good gamble. I love the way the six holes line up with the six lugs. They kind of remind me of a 1960s Hot Wheels car.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
finished with the bed boards over the weekend - white oak with Minwax "natural" stain + 4 coats of oil-base polyurethane all around - test fit everything this morning and it kinda makes me want to paint the truck black (in primer now)…

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
That'd be OK for you because your truck is a little older, but I'm not going with wide whitewalls, because those wouldn't have been cool by 1963/4/5. Plus, those earlier Corvette wheelcovers are fastened on by those wheels with the bumps on them like a '56 Chevy, so you couldn't get them to work on my original wheels. But I agree, many a great custom have been run those older Corvette wheelcovers!

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
Yesterday: (Finally!) finished my El Cheapo steering wheel restoration and repaint, got a new horn button and installed. Once I got the button out of the box I found it had a slight dent in it from shipping I guess (DOH!) But I wanted to put it on anyway for the pic. Necker knob I had bought for it didn't fit. Wheel is too thin for it.
Before (Nasty & Ugly): During (Nastier and Uglier): After (MUCH Better. Ok, it's not perfect and yes my cab looks like crap right now. Just did the wheel cause it looked unsafe to me): |

Re: What did you do to your truck today?
What are you going to do to your springs? I soaked mine in CLR to clean them up, they were kind of rusty, then brushed them with a wire wheel on my bench grinder after that i soaked them in Gibbs lubricant. They still look like new polished springs after several months.
