Re: Shucks First Build
My primer is Featherfill build primer, PPG 2k sealer, I couldn't afford the high dollar PPG or the other big brand stuff, it's OMNI basecoat of LeManz blue. I love OMNI clear coat, and that turned out nice. The basecoat didn't cover as well as I hoped but an extra coat fixed most of it!

Re: Shucks First Build
Thanks cape! Thanks for all your tips and advice throughout my build.
Anyone know why my LED strip flickers only when my truck is running? When it's off it's perfect. When running the functions still work, it just flickers. Here's a video. Not sure if it'll work, I never have luck with them. http://vid1102.photobucket.com/album...7BC9F0D50F.mp4

Re: Shucks First Build
Just read you whole build. You have done some very nice work and that truck is something to be proud of.

Re: Shucks First Build
Check ALL your grounds and the connections at your light strip.

Re: Shucks First Build
Removed my light strip ground, wire wheeled it, installed it and it was flawless. Thanks!
Glass shop dropped the ball and the truck can't go in till Monday. I suppose I'll keep waiting...

Re: Shucks First Build
How is the quality of the trim components on the door panels? LMC, correct?

Re: Shucks First Build
I probably wouldn't buy them again. Though I don't know what they were like back in the day but the pieces to assemble those panels seemed very cheap to me. For the price I paid for the panels and parts I expected more. All in all they look decent! Just cheap plastic, I've already broke one of the door panel strap covers...

Re: Shucks First Build
I worked for GM dealers when these trucks were new and the strap covers were cheaply built then. You really had to be careful getting them off.

In the future I'll probably invest in newer stuff but for now I'm happy. LMC is now a distributor of TMI interior pieces and I might invest in a set of their seats and door panels rather than have my nasty seat reupholstered.

Re: Shucks First Build
As far as seat covers go I would first look into a local interior shop if you have one. A good interior guy can make something that fits your tastes and keep it personalized. Plus helping local economy is always a good thing.

Re: Shucks First Build
Well today I turned 21. Started this truck when I was 17 and basically finished today! What better way to celebrate then get the glass installed and go for a drive with my girlfriend. The truck drives great, turns heads and just needs a polish and it'll be done!

Re: Shucks First Build
Happy B-Day and congrats on finishing the truck. Where are your tail lights? I would hesitate to just run the strip.

Re: Shucks First Build
Thanks for the birthday wishes! I survived my 21st, hah.
So with some birthday money I went and bought a new intake manifold to try and fix my light throttle hesitation I've gotten since forever ago. My original intake was a single plane and I went to a dual plane thinking that would help from the research I've made. Unfortunate basically nothing changed. But it looks nice none-the-less... If anyone has any ideas of what it could be let me know! What it does is only in drive or reverse it'll stumble until I give it enough gas. Won't do it in park or neutral. When driving it'll stumble around the 1200-1600 RPM range.

Re: Shucks First Build
Was trying to research it, I had one that did that also, seems my vacuum on the distributor wasn't working, after wasting money and swapping two carbs that's what i came up with, changed out the vacuum part of the distributor and it was like night and day on the take off, not that it will fix your problem, but its worth checking a little closer, also what size carb are you running, allot of times bigger is not better,

Missed out on the 5th, but Happy Birthday a few days late. You should be very proud of the work you have done on this C10. Now, go out and enjoy it!
